Which kind of battery is more suitable for electric tools?

There are many kinds of lithium batteries for electric tools, so the price of lithium batteries for electric tools will be very different.
1. Power tool battery made of ordinary lithium ion battery
If the power tool batteries are made of ordinary lithium-ion batteries, they must meet the performance of high-speed discharge to meet the working requirements of power tools. However, due to the limitations of cost and materials, ordinary lithium-ion batteries can not perform high rate discharge performance. So when people buy cheaper lithium power tool batteries on the market, they usually feel that they are fully charged and ready to use. However, after a while, it is obvious that the power of the electric tools is obviously weakened, softened and lack of power. At the same time, the common lithium-ion battery has the general high temperature resistance, so the service life is relatively short.

2. Electric tool batteries made of nickel hydrogen batteries
Ni-MH
As an electric tool battery, the energy density of nickel hydrogen batteries is not as high as that of lithium batteries, so in the same battery pack space, the capacity of nickel hydrogen batteries is smaller than that of lithium batteries, but the consistency of nickel hydrogen batteries is higher than that of lithium batteries. Therefore, the safety performance of nickel hydrogen battery packs is superior to that of lithium batteries. Meanwhile, nickel hydrogen batteries can achieve a discharge capacity of over 15%, fully meeting the requirements of the working characteristics of electric tools. Of course, nickel hydrogen batteries are heavier than lithium batteries, but they are cheaper and more competitive in terms of manufacturing costs and market prices.
In addition, the low-temperature performance of nickel hydrogen batteries is much worse than that of low-temperature lithium iron phosphate batteries and low-temperature lithium polymer batteries. Therefore, nickel hydrogen batteries are generally not suitable for electric tool batteries in low-temperature areas.

3. Power tool battery made of LiFePO4 battery

Lithium iron phosphate battery has certain advantages as the battery of power tools. Its high temperature resistance is better than other lithium batteries. At the same time, the discharge performance above 30C can be achieved. The effect is ideal at room temperature and wide temperature. Compared with Ni MH battery, its low temperature performance and energy density are better, and its service life is longer. Ni MH battery has memory effect, but LiFePO4 battery does not. At present, the technology of LiFePO4 battery has some shortcomings compared with NiMH battery, the consistency of battery is relatively poor, and the safety of battery pack is slightly worse than NiMH battery.
4. Lithium polymer power tool battery

Among the batteries for power tools, lithium polymer should be the most expensive. Lithium polymer not only has higher energy density, but also has the best performance in achieving ultra-high rate discharge. The reason why lithium polymer is expensive is that it uses some rare materials with high energy density, and its production and manufacturing technology requirements are relatively high. Its disadvantage is that its internal high temperature performance is slightly worse than that of iron phosphate battery, similar to that of Ni MH battery. The above is an introduction to the battery types of power tools. I believe that by comparing their advantages and disadvantages, everyone should have a preliminary understanding of which kind of battery is more suitable for power tool batteries.
